Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Go For Glory Stable?

GFG has the horses, management team, trainers and website infrastructure to ensure you have the best ownership experience. Whether you’re new to ownership or a veteran owner, you will have the opportunity to buy into quality overnight racehorses and excellent yearling prospects. We pride ourselves on regular communication on our horses. New members can invest as little as 1% to get in the game.

It’s very easy and self-service. Simply browse the available horses for sale on the ‘Our Horses’ page, click on the horse and % quantity you’d like, and complete your online purchase. On the bottom of the page, you can also subscribe to the website to be kept updated on GFG news or new horse acquisitions.

GFG focuses on quality horses to give members the best chance for success. The overnight horses that compete weekly can typically range from $20k-$85k depending on the horse’s ability.  Similarly for yearling purchases, they will generally cost in that same price range as we seek to acquire the best pedigree available at an affordable price.

Overnight horses typically race 3x a month and approximately 30-35x a year and can race for $10k-$35k per race at the top tracks. Stakes horses (2yo & 3yo) typically race approximately 10x in their 2yo season and 20x in their 3yo season. Stakes races can go for $20k-$100k+ per race with finals ranging from $100k-$300k+.

The costs usually average between $3,500-$4,500/month for a horse in training and racing. The costs would be reduced if the horse is being rested and on an extended break.

GFG does not assess a stable management fee per horse nor does GFG receive a percentage of purse earnings. All horse acquisition prices will be available at cost with no mark-up. The one exception being that GFG earns a 5% commission on all transactions in the GFG Marketplace and Auctions.

Once training bills are received by GFG, the monthly statements will be distributed to all GFG members by email. These statements will include your horse investments, purse earnings and the monthly costs associated with your horses. The member can remit payment online via Paypal, Venmo, Credit/Debit Card, and Zelle. If the member has a credit, GFG can either send the proceeds to the member or he/she can elect to rollover the profit as a credit on their account to offset future bills or horse purchases.

Yes, each GFG horse is syndicated to the members. All horses purchased on www.goforglorystable.com are automatically captured in the Master Syndication Agreement. This agreement is also available on the bottom of each page of the website in the ‘Terms of Service’ link. This agreement will include all the terms of service related to the horse syndication with GFG.

Yes, you can do both. Typically, the racetracks have strict rules about who may enter the paddock at the racetrack. Upon request and with advanced notice, we can make arrangements to have you enter the paddock as our guest. All members along with family and friends may join us in the winner’s circle photo, the more the merrier!

Once you opt-in to the GFG mailing list or purchase a horse, you will be updated on at least a weekly basis with information concerning your horses. These e-mail updates among other things will include racing schedules, potential acquisitions, horse status, and in-person GFG events. Additionally, horse photos, training and race replays will be sent as they become available.

Although there is nothing better than owning a racehorse for the thrill and profit potential it may offer, racehorse ownership is a risky proposition. Equine athletes, similar to human athletes, can experience injury, sickness or even death. Investing in a racehorse should only be considered by individuals with sufficient disposable income and a strong risk appetite and mindset to weather the inevitable ups and downs. Fractional ownership offers the member an opportunity to diversify his/her racing portfolio to spread the risk amongst several horses vs investing heavily on one specific horse.

GFG does not purchase mortality or injury insurance on its racehorses as it is not economically feasible since the likelihood of a catastrophic breakdown in harness racing is rare. Although injuries can happen, many times they usually do not require expensive surgery or surgery at all. Oftentimes, time off is all the horse needs to heal.
